Beef Or Chicken Stew
A hearty and comforting stew featuring tender beef or chicken, savory soups, fresh vegetables, and a splash of wine, perfect for cozy family dinners.
Ingredients
- 2 lb. beef cubes or 2 large round chicken breasts, cut up
- 1 can tomato soup ⓘ
- 1 can golden mushroom soup ⓘ
- 1 large can mushrooms
- 3 large potatoes, chopped ⓘ
- 3 large carrots, sliced ⓘ
- 1 stick celery, chopped ⓘ
- 1 medium onion, chopped ⓘ
- 1 box frozen peas ⓘ
- salt and pepper (optional) ⓘ
- 1 cup red or white cooking wine ⓘ
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients except wine and frozen peas in a large dish, season with salt and pepper, and stir well.
- Place in an oven preheated to 250°F. Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup water after the first hour of baking.
- After three hours of cooking, add either white or red cooking wine to the dish.
- Continue baking at 250°F for a total of five hours, stirring every hour.
- During the last hour, place the box of frozen peas on top of the stew and keep covered.
