Ingredients

  • 1.5 to 2 lb. round steak
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 4 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 2 cups hot water
  • minced garlic to taste
  • minced onion to taste

Instructions

  1. Trim the round steak and cut it into serving size pieces.
  2. Pound the meat to tenderize and coat each piece with flour.
  3. Mix bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese in a shallow dish.
  4. Dip the floured meat into the beaten egg, then into the bread crumb and Parmesan mixture.
  5. Brown the coated meat in cooking oil in a skillet.
  6. Place the browned meat in a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  7. Mix tomato paste with hot water, minced garlic, minced onion, salt, and pepper to taste.
  8. Pour the tomato sauce over the meat.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 30-40 minutes until cooked through.
