Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef flank steak
  • 2/3 cup shoyu
  • 2 teaspoons crushed ginger
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1 green pepper
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Cut the beef into bite-sized chunks.
  2. In a bowl, combine shoyu, crushed ginger, and sugar.
  3. Add beef to the marinade; let it marinate for 1 hour.
  4. In a pot, add oil and heat.
  5. Add marinated beef; cook for 2 to 3 minutes, then set aside.
  6. Add onion, celery, and green pepper to the pot; cook for 2 minutes.
  7. Stir cornstarch into the remaining sauce.
  8. Return the beef and add tomatoes to the vegetables; mix well.
  9. Cook for 3 minutes until heated through.
