Ingredients

  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1/4 cup crushed saltines
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix the tomato sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, and prepared mustard; then simmer.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and add half of the sauce mixture, mixing well.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a baking dish.
  4. Pour the remaining half of the sauce on top of the loaf.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour until cooked through.
