Ingredients

  • 1 lb. steak, cut into 1/4 inch slices
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon dry sherry
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon MSG (optional)
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 bunch broccoli
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Mix together soy sauce, cornstarch, dry sherry, sugar, and optional MSG; set aside.
  2. Cut broccoli into florets about 2 inches long.
  3. Peel the stalk and slice into 2-inch lengths less than 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a hot skillet or wok over high heat.
  5. Add broccoli and stir-fry until dark green, about 2 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  6. Add 2 tablespoons of oil to the skillet.
  7. Add onions and beef slices; stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  8. Return broccoli to the skillet and stir-fry until heated through. Serve with rice.
