Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 heaping tablespoon Crisco
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 stick butter

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Add sugar and salt.
  3. Add 1 cup of flour and blend well.
  4. Add Crisco and egg and blend well.
  5. Stir in the rest of the flour and blend well.
  6. Cover the bowl with a wet towel and place over a pan of hot water until doubled in size, about 2 hours.
