Ingredients

  • 22 medium-sized green tomatoes
  • 6 green peppers
  • 1 pint small onions, cut up
  • 6 sweet red peppers
  • 1.5 quarts vinegar
  • 3.5 cups white sugar
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground allspice
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 4 teaspoons celery seed

Instructions

  1. Quarter the tomatoes and green and red peppers.
  2. Put the vegetables through a food chopper using a medium blade; drain the mixture.
  3. Place the chopped vegetables in a large kettle.
  4. Add vinegar and boil the mixture for 30 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Drain and discard the juice from the mixture.
