Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups uncooked macaroni
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 6 ounces cubed Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni in boiling salted water until tender; drain.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter; blend in flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add milk; cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
  4. Add cheese; stir until melted.
  5. Mix cheese sauce with macaroni.
  6. Turn into a 1 1/2-quart casserole.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes.
