Ingredients

  • 1 large cabbage
  • 7 slices bacon
  • 1 large bell pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1 cup bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon until crisp and set aside.
  2. Chop cabbage and steam until tender; season with bacon drippings.
  3. Drain the cabbage to remove excess moisture.
  4. In a large casserole dish, layer the cooked cabbage, chopped bell pepper, and sliced onion.
  5. Repeat the layering process as desired.
  6. Add chopped bacon on top and cover with cream of mushroom soup.
  7. Sprinkle grated cheese and bread crumbs over the top.
  8. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 40 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  9. Serve while hot.
