Hearty Biscuits and Beef layered casserole features seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and flaky biscuits, making it a comforting, family-friendly dish full of bold flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 large can biscuits, cut in half
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten

Instructions

  1. Place one set of biscuit halves in the bottom of a baking dish.
  2. Saute ground beef, chopped onion, and chopped green pepper until cooked.
  3. Add chili powder, garlic salt, shredded cheese (reserve 3/4 cup for topping), sour cream, egg, and tomato sauce to the beef mixture.
  4. Stir together well and pour over the biscuits in the dish.
  5. Place the remaining biscuit halves on top of the mixture.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese on top.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
