Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 2/3 cup warm water
  • 2/3 cup warm milk
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast, warm water, and sugar in a small bowl.
  2. Put 1 cup of flour and the salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add oil, warm milk, egg, and yeast mixture to the dry ingredients.
  4. Blend until moistened.
  5. Beat with an electric mixer for 3 minutes at low speed.
  6. Stir in by hand 1 1/2 to 2 cups of flour until the batter is stiff.
  7. Cover and let rise until doubled in size.
  8. Push down the dough and shape into a round loaf or individual rolls.
  9. Place on a cookie sheet and let rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 to 45 minutes until golden brown.
