- Cream butter in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating well.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating mixture well after each addition.
- Combine 3 3/4 cups of flour, baking powder, and grated nutmeg.
- Add the flour mixture alternately with bourbon to the creamed mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
- Mix well after each addition.
- Dredge raisins and chopped pecans in the remaining 1/4 cup of flour.
- Stir the floured raisins and pecans into the batter.
- Spoon batter into a heavily greased 10-inch tube pan.
- Bake at 325°F for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until the cake tests done.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 15 minutes.
- Remove the cake from the pan and let cool completely.
