Broadway Brownie Bars
Rich and indulgent brownie bars with cream cheese and chocolate layers, topped with pecans and marshmallows, perfect for dessert lovers and special occasions.
Ingredients
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened ⓘ
- 1 1/2 cups sugar, divided ⓘ
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided ⓘ
- 3 eggs, divided ⓘ
- 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, divided ⓘ
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, divided ⓘ
- 1 1/4 cups chopped pecans, divided ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon baking powder ⓘ
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips ⓘ
- 2 cups miniature marshmallows ⓘ
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3 c. confectioners sugar ⓘ
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, blend 6 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of butter, 1 egg, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla until smooth. Set aside.
- Prepare the brownie layer by combining remaining all-purpose flour, baking powder, and the other half of sugar, eggs, vanilla, and unsweetened chocolate as directed in the full recipe.
- Pour the brownie batter into a greased baking pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled brownie layer.
- Top with chopped pecans, mini marshmallows, and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- In a small saucepan, heat the milk and remaining unsweetened chocolate until melted and smooth, then pour over the layered bars.
- Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until marshmallows are golden.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.
