Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar, divided
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided
  • 3 eggs, divided
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, divided
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, divided
  • 1 1/4 cups chopped pecans, divided
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 c. confectioners sugar

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, blend 6 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of butter, 1 egg, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the brownie layer by combining remaining all-purpose flour, baking powder, and the other half of sugar, eggs, vanilla, and unsweetened chocolate as directed in the full recipe.
  3. Pour the brownie batter into a greased baking pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled brownie layer.
  5. Top with chopped pecans, mini marshmallows, and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  6. In a small saucepan, heat the milk and remaining unsweetened chocolate until melted and smooth, then pour over the layered bars.
  7. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until marshmallows are golden.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.
