- Beat eggs until light, then add brown sugar and continue beating until light with a rotary beater or mixer.
- Add vanilla and melted butter, and mix thoroughly.
- Sift together the dry ingredients: flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.
- Alternately add the dry ingredients and sour milk to the egg mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
- Fold in chopped nuts with the last addition of flour.
- Pour the batter into two lightly greased and floured 9 x 5 inch loaf pans.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
