Ingredients

  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. nuts
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 9-inch baked pie shell

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat milk until bubbles form around the sides of the pan, then set aside.
  2. Melt butter in the saucepan.
  3. Gradually add sugar, flour, and salt, stirring until smooth.
  4. Add hot milk, stirring constantly with a wire whisk.
  5. Cook until the mixture begins to boil, then boil for 1 minute while stirring constantly.
  6. Remove from heat and pour into the baked pie shell.
  7. Sprinkle nuts over the filling and let it cool before serving.
