Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 cup chopped green onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 medium cabbage, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Morton Lite Salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (18 oz) can tomato paste
  • 8 oz low fat shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Saute ground turkey, chopped green onion, and chopped green pepper until the meat is browned.
  2. Boil the shredded cabbage until tender.
  3. Save 2 cups of the cooking liquid and drain off the excess.
  4. Combine the 2 cups of liquid, oregano, pepper, salt, and tomato paste and simmer on low heat for 4 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked meat, onion, and green pepper mixture to the tomato sauce.
  6. In a 9x13 inch pan, pour half of the meat mixture, then layer the cooked cabbage, and pour the remaining meat mixture over it.
  7. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake at 400°F until the cheese is browned, about 30-45 minutes.
