Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 1/2 cups shredded cabbage
  • salt
  • 1/2 chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 4 bacon strips
  • 6 oz. can tomato paste
  • American cheese slices

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together thoroughly.
  2. Pour mixture into a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf baking pan.
  3. Place bacon strips on top.
  4. Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 350°F.
  5. After 45 minutes, drain excess bacon grease if necessary.
  6. During the last 15 minutes, spread tomato paste on top.
  7. Turn oven off and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  8. Add cheese slices on top and allow them to melt before serving.
