Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 lb. round steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 pkg. brown gravy mix
  • 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 red pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 1 (8 oz.) can sliced chestnuts, drained
  • 4 green onions, sliced diagonally into 1-inch pieces

Instructions

  1. Brown beef in oil in a large skillet about 5 minutes.
  2. Combine water, gravy mix, soy sauce, and ginger.
  3. Add red pepper, water chestnuts, and green onions.
  4. Bring to a full boil.
  5. Stir in rice, cover, and remove from heat.
  6. Let stand for 5 minutes.
  7. Fluff with a fork and serve.
