Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup undiluted Carnation milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup cracker crumbs
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 tablespoon catsup
  • 1 cup grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Blend milk, egg, and cracker crumbs; add salt, dry mustard, chopped onion, catsup, ground beef, and half the grated cheese. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Line a loaf pan with heavy waxed paper and place 1/2 cup of grated cheese on the bottom of the pan.
  3. Place half of the meat mixture over the cheese; top with another 1/2 cup grated cheese.
  4. Add the remaining meat mixture on top, covering the cheese layer.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 1 hour.
  6. Allow to stand for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
