Tips & Substitutions

For a creamier texture, consider adding a splash of milk or sour cream to the casserole mix. If you prefer a vegan option, substitute the tuna with chickpeas and use a plant-based cream of mushroom soup. Also, feel free to swap cashew nuts for almonds or any other nuts you have on hand for a different flavor profile.

Yes, you can use any type of noodle you prefer, such as egg noodles or whole wheat pasta. Just ensure to adjust the cooking time according to the noodle type to ensure everything is cooked properly.

Can I make this casserole ahead of time?

Absolutely! You can prepare the casserole a day in advance, cover it tightly, and store it in the refrigerator. Just bake it when you're ready to serve, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time if it’s coming straight from the fridge.
