Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 3 cups celery sticks (3 inches long, 1/4 inch wide)
  • 1 cup carrot sticks (3 inches long, 1/4 inch wide)
  • 1/4 cup oregano

Instructions

  1. In a 10-inch skillet, heat water, butter, salt, and pepper until the butter melts.
  2. Add chopped onion, celery, carrots, and celery leaves. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Stir in oregano.
  4. Simmer uncovered for 3 minutes.
  5. Remove celery leaves and serve.
