Ingredients

  • 2 lb. hamburger
  • 1/2 chopped onion
  • 1/2 chopped green pepper
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 36 oz. tomato juice
  • 12 oz. tomato paste
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 tsp. celery salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 12 oz. Mozzarella cheese
  • lasagna noodles

Instructions

  1. Brown the hamburger, chopped onion, chopped green pepper, salt, and pepper until cooked.
  2. In a saucepan, mix the tomato juice, tomato paste, cream of mushroom soup, celery salt, and sugar.
  3. Add the browned ingredients to the sauce and simmer until thickened, approximately 3 hours.
  4. Boil 10 to 12 lasagna noodles for 8 minutes, then drain and rinse.
  5. In a 13 x 9-inch pan, layer sauce on the bottom, followed by noodles, sauce, cheese, noodles, sauce, cheese, and noodles until all are used.
  6. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 30 minutes covered with foil, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
