Cheese Tater Pie combines savory ground beef, creamy mashed potatoes, and melted cheese for a hearty, comforting dish perfect for family dinners and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/3 cup minced onion
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef and bread crumbs with evaporated milk, egg, salt, dry mustard, pepper, and minced onion.
  2. Press the meat mixture into an 8-inch pie tin and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove from oven and place 3 slices of American cheese on top of the meat.
  4. Prepare mashed potatoes and swirl them on top of the cheese.
  5. Break the fourth slice of cheese into pieces and place on top of the mashed potatoes.
  6. Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
