- Butter a 9x13 casserole dish. Butter bread on both sides and place six slices in the bottom of the casserole dish.
- Combine cubed cooked chicken, sliced or chopped hard boiled eggs, sliced mushrooms, chopped olives, mayonnaise, and chopped onion. Spread this mixture over the bread layer.
- Cover with the remaining slices of buttered bread.
- Mix together cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and sherry. Spread this topping evenly over the casserole.
- Bake in a 325-degree Fahrenheit oven for 30 minutes until heated through and bubbly.
