Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef ⓘ
- 1/2 c. chopped onion ⓘ
- 1/2 c. chopped green pepper ⓘ
- 1 (15 oz.) can chili hot beans (undrained) ⓘ
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce ⓘ
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste ⓘ
- 1 envelope taco seasoning mix ⓘ
- 1 (11 oz.) pkg. refrigerated cornbread twists ⓘ
- 1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. plain flour ⓘ
- 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese ⓘ
Instructions
- Chop green onion and tomato for garnish.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and green pepper until meat is browned; drain.
- Stir in undrained chili beans, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and taco seasoning mix.
- Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes, stirring often.
- Prepare cornbread twists according to package instructions and layer over the beef mixture in a baking dish.
- Bake until cornbread is golden and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onion and tomato, serve with sour cream and shredded Cheddar cheese.
