- Combine the chili-style beans in gravy, chopped onion, and 1/2 cup water. Pour the mixture directly onto the meat.
- Cover and roast at 350° for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Remove the roast and beans to a warm platter.
- Skim off excess fat from the drippings.
- Add enough water to the pan drippings to make 1 cup of liquid.
- Blend 2 tablespoons of cold water with the flour.
- Add the flour mixture to the pan juices; cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
- Serve the gravy with the meat.
