Ingredients

  • 1 loaf pound cake
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate
  • 15 oz Ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 6 Tbsp Amaretto
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp melted butter
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp boiling water
  • 2 Tbsp nuts

Instructions

  1. Chop the semi-sweet chocolate into small pieces.
  2. Cut the loaf pound cake lengthwise into three even layers.
  3. Sprinkle each cake layer with Amaretto.
  4. Cream together ricotta cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Add melted chocolate to the ricotta mixture and blend well.
  6. Spread the chocolate-ricotta mixture onto the bottom two cake layers.
  7. Place the top cake layer over the filling.
  8. Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, melted butter, boiling water, and nuts as desired, then drizzle over the assembled torte.
