Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 (1 oz.) sq. baking chocolate
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
  • 3/4 c. flour, sifted
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate in a saucepan over low heat.
  3. Remove from heat and add sugar.
  4. Add one unbeaten egg and mix with a fork.
  5. Add the other egg and mix again.
  6. Add vanilla and chopped nuts.
  7. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt; add to the mixture.
  8. Mix thoroughly.
  9. Pour into an 8-inch square pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
