Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 1/2 squares chocolate
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the eggs, sugar, and melted butter in a mixing bowl.
  2. Melt the chocolate and add it to the mixture, mixing well.
  3. Dissolve the baking soda in the sour milk and add to the batter.
  4. Add the baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and flour; mix until smooth.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and deep fry until golden brown.
  7. Remove donuts from oil and drain on paper towels before serving.
