Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup Dr. Pepper
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Heat butter and Dr. Pepper together.
  2. Sift together flour, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and cocoa.
  3. Combine eggs, buttermilk, baking soda, and vanilla.
  4. Add the hot Dr. Pepper mixture to the dry ingredients and blend well.
  5. Add the egg mixture and mix thoroughly.
  6. Pour the batter into a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes.
