Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 stick oleo, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mix milk, sugar, melted oleo, and egg in a bowl until well blended.
  3. Stir in flour, chopped nuts, chocolate chips, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 50 to 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool the bread for 10 minutes.
  7. Loosen the sides from the pan with a knife or spatula.
  8. Remove the bread from the pan.
  9. Cool completely before slicing.
  10. Store tightly wrapped.
