Ingredients

  • 1 lb bacon
  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 1 onion
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 can red kidney beans (15 1/2 oz.)
  • 1 can butter beans (15 1/2 oz.)
  • 1 can Great Northern beans (15 1/2 oz.)
  • 1 jar B & M beans (with sauce)

Instructions

  1. Cut bacon into small pieces and brown in a frying pan.
  2. Transfer bacon to a large crock-pot or Dutch oven and drain excess grease.
  3. In the same pan, add ground hamburger and brown.
  4. Add cooked hamburger to the crock-pot with the bacon and drain off any remaining grease.
  5. Sauté chopped onion in the same pan, then add to the crock-pot.
  6. Add all drained beans to the crock-pot and stir to combine.
  7. In the same pan, add brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, and vinegar.
  8. Heat until the sugar has dissolved, then pour the sauce into the crock-pot.
  9. Heat the crock-pot until the beans are hot and flavors meld.
  10. Serve immediately or cook on low for several hours for deeper flavor.
