Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pound wieners or smoked sausage
  • 1 pound can barbecue beans
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano

Instructions

  1. Beat the egg; add cooking oil and milk.
  2. Add the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, chili powder, onion powder, oregano) to the wet mixture and mix well.
  3. Spread the bottom and sides of a greased 9-inch pie pan with the dough.
  4. Reserve 2 wieners; cut the remaining wieners or smoked sausages into 1/2-inch slices.
  5. Combine the sliced wieners, barbecue beans, and shredded Cheddar cheese with the mixture and spoon into the center of the dough in the pie pan.
  6. Cut the reserved 2 wieners lengthwise, then crosswise into small pieces.
  7. Arrange the cut wieners in a spoke fashion, skin side up, on top of the bean mixture.
  8. Bake at 375°F for 30 to 35 minutes until golden and heated through.
  9. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting into wedges.
