Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon; mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, blend egg, milk, oil, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until all dry ingredients are moistened.
  5. Fold in 1 cup of chopped walnuts into the batter.
  6. Spoon the batter into the greased loaf pan.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining walnuts on top of the batter.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and cool completely.
