Ingredients

  • 1 lb. peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon peel, shredded
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 4 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. crushed basil
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 2 c. broccoli
  • hot cooked rice
  • 1/4 c. sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Thaw shrimp if frozen.
  2. Combine cold water, lemon peel, lemon juice, cornstarch, chicken bouillon cube, sugar, and crushed basil to make the sauce; set aside.
  3. Heat wok on high heat.
  4. Fry broccoli in oil until crisp-tender; remove from wok.
  5. Fry shrimp in batches until pink; remove from wok.
  6. Return all shrimp and broccoli to wok; push to sides.
  7. Pour the sauce into the center of the wok; stir until thick and bubbly.
  8. Stir all ingredients together and cook for 2 more minutes.
  9. Serve hot over cooked rice.
