Ingredients

  • 1 small loaf white bread
  • 1/4 cup coconut
  • 1 large can evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • brown sugar
  • nuts
  • raisins
  • margarine

Instructions

  1. Line a well-buttered pan with white bread slices cut in quarters.
  2. Spread coconut on top of the bread.
  3. Mix evaporated milk, sugar, eggs, and vanilla with a spoon until well combined.
  4. Pour enough of the mixture to soak the bread, then layer bread and the remaining custard until all ingredients are used.
  5. Dot the top with margarine.
  6. Sprinkle with sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nuts, raisins, and coconut.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) until the top is golden brown.
