Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/3 sweet onion, chopped coarsely
  • 3 cans plain stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 small can tomato paste
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 cup frozen corn
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 1 teaspoon crushed basil

Instructions

  1. In a Dutch oven or large pot, brown the ground beef and chopped onions; drain excess fat.
  2. Add the canned stewed tomatoes, tomato paste, and seasonings; bring to a boil.
  3. Stir in the frozen corn and chopped celery.
  4. Reduce heat to simmer, cover, and cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Best if simmered longer for fuller flavor.
