Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 1/4 cups cornmeal
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 5 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3 eggs, beaten

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine milk, melted butter, and beaten eggs.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.
  5. Mix until blended, do not overbeat.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan or greased muffin tins.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown.
