Ingredients

  • 2 pkg seasoned stuffing cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups cubed fully cooked ham
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 3 cups chopped onion
  • 2 cups chopped celery
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons rubbed sage
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Place the seasoned stuffing cubes into a large bowl and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the cubed fully cooked ham in butter for 5 to 10 minutes or until the edges are crisp.
  3. Remove the ham with a slotted spoon and place it over the stuffing.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion, chopped celery, rubbed sage, dried thyme, and pepper until the vegetables are tender.
  5. Toss the sautéed vegetables with the bread and ham.
  6. Stir in enough chicken broth to moisten the mixture.
  7. Transfer the stuffing to a covered baking dish and bake at 325°F for 70 minutes, uncovering for the last 10 minutes. Alternatively, stuff a 12 to 14-pound turkey with it.
