Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 quarts milk
  • 6 cans (8 oz. each) crabmeat
  • 1 can (16 oz.) mushrooms
  • 1 cup sherry
  • dash lemon juice
  • dash Worcestershire sauce
  • dash nutmeg
  • parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, melt the butter.
  2. Work in the flour and then add the milk.
  3. Stir constantly until the white sauce is thick.
  4. Add the crabmeat, mushrooms, sherry, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and nutmeg.
  5. Heat until all ingredients are hot.
  6. Serve from a chafing dish with toast rounds or your favorite crackers.
