Ingredients

  • unbaked 9-inch pie shell
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 cup cranberries, cut up
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 3 egg whites

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, and cloves in a bowl.
  2. Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.
  3. Add to dry ingredients alternately with vinegar and melted butter, mixing well.
  4. Stir in cranberries and chopped pecans.
  5. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  6. Fold egg whites into cranberry mixture gently until blended.
  7. Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie shell.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 50 minutes until golden and set.
