Tips & Substitutions

For a deeper flavor, you can add a splash of white wine or Worcestershire sauce to the mixture. If you don’t have crawfish, shrimp is a fantastic substitute. Be sure to sauté them just until they turn pink to avoid overcooking. For an extra kick, consider adding a diced jalapeño with the vegetables. This dish pairs beautifully with rice or crusty bread to soak up the sauce.

Serving Suggestions

Serve your Crawfish Etouffee over a bed of fluffy white rice for a comforting meal. Garnish with additional chopped green onions and parsley for a fresh touch. This dish is perfect alongside a light salad or crusty French bread. For an authentic taste of Louisiana, pair it with a side of Louisiana Shrimp Gumbo or a classic coleslaw.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, gently warm in a saucepan over low heat, adding a splash of water or broth if needed to loosen the sauce. Avoid using a microwave, as it can lead to uneven heating and tough shrimp or crawfish.
