Ingredients

  • 2 or 3 cups cooked corkscrew macaroni
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (10 oz.) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can (14 1/2 oz.) whole tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar sharp cheese
  • 3/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 can (3 oz.) Durkee French fried onions

Instructions

  1. Cook the corkscrew macaroni until al dente and drain.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat and drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine cooked macaroni, browned beef, cream of mushroom soup, chopped tomatoes, shredded Cheddar cheese, and chopped green pepper.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased 2-quart casserole dish.
  5. Cover and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven, uncover, and top with Durkee French fried onions.
  7. Bake uncovered for an additional 5 minutes until onions are crispy and golden.
  8. Serve hot.
