- Cook the corkscrew macaroni until al dente and drain.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat and drain excess fat.
- In a large bowl, combine cooked macaroni, browned beef, cream of mushroom soup, chopped tomatoes, shredded Cheddar cheese, and chopped green pepper.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 2-quart casserole dish.
- Cover and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
- Remove from oven, uncover, and top with Durkee French fried onions.
- Bake uncovered for an additional 5 minutes until onions are crispy and golden.
- Serve hot.
