Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 ribs celery
  • 2 tsp. butter
  • 1 c. cooked rice
  • 1 c. cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 3 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 (9 1/2 oz.) can chow mein noodles

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and ground pork in a skillet.
  2. Drain and slice the water chestnuts.
  3. Sauté the water chestnuts, chopped onion, and diced celery in butter until tender.
  4. In a mixing bowl, blend the cooked meat, sautéed vegetables, cooked rice, cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, and soy sauce.
  5. Pour the mixture into a buttered casserole dish.
  6. Top with chow mein noodles.
  7. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 30 to 40 minutes until bubbly and golden.
