Ingredients

  • 2 lb. hamburger meat
  • 1 1/2 onions, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. basil leaves
  • 1/8 cup parsley leaves
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 (15 oz.) package Ricotta cheese
  • 1 large package shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 can Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Brown the hamburger meat, chopped onions, and garlic in a skillet.
  2. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, basil, parsley, and sugar. Bring to a boil and simmer for one hour.
  3. Mix ricotta cheese with eggs, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon parsley leaves.
  4. Layer cooked meat mixture, ricotta mixture, and shredded mozzarella in a baking dish.
  5. Top with Parmesan cheese and bake until bubbly and golden.
