Ingredients

  • 2 lb. round steak
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 c. beef bouillon
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 green pepper

Instructions

  1. Trim all fat from the round steak and cut into strips approximately 1/2 x 3 inches.
  2. Brown the meat in vegetable oil in a large skillet or pan.
  3. Add ginger, garlic powder, and beef bouillon to the browned meat.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.
  6. Mix cornstarch with water and soy sauce to create a slurry.
  7. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the pan and cook until the sauce thickens and becomes clear.
  8. Add the green pepper strips (if using) and cook until tender and sauce is thickened.
