Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. Grape-Nuts
  • 1 egg
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. firmly packed light brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Pour hot milk over cereal; let stand until cool.
  2. Mix in egg and melted, cooled shortening.
  3. Combine sifted flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add dry ingredients to the cereal mixture.
  5. Stir only to dampen the flour.
