Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lb. ground beef
  • 1/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. celery salt
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can consommé
  • 2 tsp. powdered dill

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, seasoned bread crumbs, and ketchup; form into 48 (1-inch) balls.
  2. Melt butter in a frying pan.
  3. Add meatballs, brown them, then remove from pan.
  4. Remove excess grease, leaving about 2 tablespoons in the pan.
  5. In remaining grease, blend in flour and celery salt; cook until smooth.
  6. Gradually stir in consommé and cook for 6 to 8 minutes over low-medium heat until thickened.
  7. Add dill and meatballs; serve hot with rice or buttered noodles.
