Black Pepper Steak
Juicy sirloin steak seasoned with cracked pepper, marinated with aromatic herbs and spices, then grilled to perfection. Perfect for a flavorful, hearty meal enjoyed with fresh garnishes.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 to 2 lb. sirloin steak ⓘ
- 2 large onions ⓘ
- 1 cup red wine vinegar ⓘ
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil ⓘ
- 1/3 cup brown sugar ⓘ
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon dried whole marjoram ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon dried whole rosemary ⓘ
- 3 drops hot sauce ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
- tomato wedges ⓘ
- fresh parsley sprigs ⓘ
Instructions
- Place the steak in a large shallow dish.
- Combine sliced onions, red wine vinegar, vegetable oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, salt, marjoram, crushed rosemary, and hot sauce; pour over the steak.
- Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours, turning occasionally.
- Remove the steak from the marinade.
- Press 2 teaspoons of coarsely ground pepper onto each side of the steak.
- Grill over hot coals for 15 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.
- Place the steak on a serving platter and garnish with tomato wedges and fresh parsley.
- To serve, cut into serving pieces.
