Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 cup cream-style cottage cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. dried onion flakes
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. dill seed
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 Tbsp. butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water and set aside.
  2. Heat cottage cheese until lukewarm.
  3. Combine cottage cheese, sugar, dried onion flakes, butter, dill seed, salt, egg, and yeast in a large bowl; mix well.
  4. Add enough flour to make a stiff dough.
  5. Let the dough rise, covered, in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Stir the dough down and proceed with shaping or baking as desired.
